Identify tools and their owners
List the email systems, shared spaces, business software and administrator accounts used by the organisation. For each tool, assign someone to oversee access and a backup contact for their absence.
Tie each permission to a need
Record the account holder’s role, the resources needed and the person approving access. Distinguish everyday use from administration. Plan a permissions review when a role or assignment changes.
Plan for departures from day one
Include access creation, changes and closure in the employee and contractor lifecycle. A shared checklist helps prevent omissions and keeps decisions traceable. Ask your IT lead to adapt technical measures to your environment.
